Overview

Abstract

Let X ⊂ ℂ^{n+1}, n ≥ 2, be a smooth contractible affine hypersurface with the holomorphic density property. This paper proves that X × ℂⁿ is biholomorphic to ℂ^{2n}. The proof replaces the proper-embedding parameter in Huang’s stabilization construction with a finite monic projection, retaining colliding fibers as curvilinear finite schemes. Their relative embedding space is a holomorphic submersion with Oka and sufficiently connected fibers on root-multiplicity strata. Stratified Oka interpolation and parametric Andersén–Lempert approximation yield compact capture in a fixed Runge Euclidean basin. Applications include Kₙ × ℂⁿ ≅ ℂ^{2n} for McLean’s varieties, n ≥ 4, and X_KR × ℂ³ ≅ ℂ⁶ for the Koras–Russell cubic.

Scope of the work

The theorem assumes a nonempty smooth contractible affine hypersurface of complex dimension at least two and the ordinary holomorphic density property. It is a biholomorphic stabilization result, not an algebraic cancellation theorem. The stated McLean and Koras–Russell applications retain their cited density-property inputs.

The six-member package contains the 7-page manuscript, complete editable LaTeX source and bibliography, reader instructions, BibTeX and CFF citation metadata, and checksums. Build main.tex with Tectonic or two pdflatex runs using the standard packages listed in README.md. The argument is analytic and requires no numerical experiment, custom style file or external dataset.
